Mary Ann Dillon Hartman was born in Warren county, Iowa, May 20th, 1874, and died March 29, 1905, at Cool, Iowa, aged thirty years, ten months and nine days. She was married to James Hartman April 9, 19--. To this union were born two children, one boy and one girl, who with her husband survive her. She gave her heart to God eight years ago in Madison county, Iowa, and was a member of the Church of Christ at that place. She was a devoted wife and a loving mother. A more patient, submissive sufferer was never seen; her faith in her Savior and her constant looking forward to her Masters call to come up higher, was a source of great comfort and consolation to her friends, who watched with her in her last hours. Her kindly disposition and thoughtfulness for the comfort and happiness of those around her endeared her to all who had the pleasure of her acquaintance. May God bless the bereaved father and children; and mother, you cannot bring her back but you can go to her. The family have the sympathy of the entire community in the hour of their sorrow.

Funeral services were held at the Plainview, M. E. church, Wednesday afternoon, March 30th, conducted by the Rev. N. D. Gordon, of Winterset, Iowa, in the presence of a large congregation of friends and relatives.
