ROBERT ZARLEY died at his home in this city Saturday, Feb. 11, 1905, and was buried Monday afternoon, the funeral having been held from the home of his son, C. W. Zarley, conducted by Rev. G. W. L. Brown. Mr. Zarley was born in Fayette county, Pa., Feb. 14, 1824. When 8 years old accompanied by his parents he emigrated to Ohio, and landed in Knox county, He was married in 1848 to Miss Eliza Lake, who with four children, three boys and one girl, survive him. In 1855 he moved to Iowa and located in Mt. Pleasant, in Henry county. In 1858, he moved to Johnson county, and there in 1859, he and his wife were converted and united with the Methodist Episcopal Church and remained consistent members. In 1865 Mr. Zarley came to Warren county and followed the pursuits of a farmer in Liberty township until 1882, when he came to Indianola. Here he lived the life of an honored citizen and was well known in the city and county. The children are Mrs. F. J. Davidson, Wagner, Indian Ter.; E. L. Zarley of Winterset; J. W. Zarley of Liberty township, and C. W. Zarley of this city. Mr. Zarley would have been 81 years of age Tuesday, Feb. 14th. The wife and children have the sympathy of all our people in their sad affliction.
