Florence Warren
(August 2, 1919 - May 18, 2016)

Florence Warren was born on August 2, 1919 near Swan, Iowa to Charles Henry Morgan and Mae Beard Morgan. She passed away on May 18, 2016 at the age of 96 1/2 years from complications following a fall in her home on April 4th. Florence was the youngest of 9. She had 4 brothers; Emerson, Clyde, Paul and Wayne, and 4 sisters; Ruth Sutton, Eleanor Owens, Allie Schrader and Doris Johnson. She was preceded in death by her parents and all 8 siblings, one son-in-law Dean Shetterly and one granddaughter Keryl Ilene Shetterly.
Florence attended school at OK, a one room country school and Swan School. Florence graduated as Valedictorian of her class of 1937, a class of 5 girls who reunited after 50 years. Florence was united in marriage to Ralph "Pat" Murphy and to this union 4 children were born. They divorced in 1952 and Florence moved her family to Des Moines. She worked at Firestone Tire and Rubber Co. and worked as a waitress when Firestone would go on strike. Florence was a single mom raising 4 kids. While working as a waitress she met Frederick "Pud" Warren and they were married Christmas Eve 1955. They moved to Cheyenne, WY in 1959 and worked as painters on the Air Force Base. From there they moved to Golden, CO. then Thornton, CO.

From there they moved to Quail Valley, CA and established Warren's Painting & Decorating. They worked for 20 years in CA. They enjoyed their years in CA and traveled to see the kids quite often. When it was time to retire, they moved back to Iowa to be near kids & grandkids. In 1984 they settled in Hartford. Florence worked part time in the Post Office and enjoyed being near the family.

Pud passed away in 1999 after battling cancer for nearly 10 years, they had been married nearly 43 years.

The families continued to grow and many family occasions were her favorite pass time.
She enjoyed knitting & crocheting and spent a lot of time reading.

Florence is survived by her daughter, Margie Shetterly Spence (Verle) of Hartford; sons, Larry Murphy (Cheryl) of Hartford, Dennis (Diane) of Pleasantville, Howard (Karen) of Pocatello, Idaho; 12 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren, 17 great great grandchildren, 5 step granddaughters, 11 step great grandchildren, 8 step great great grandchildren, 7 nieces and many more relatives & friends.
