(July 23, 1953 - March 31, 2017)

Stephen Craig Brown passed away at his home in Milo, on Friday, March 31, 2017. A celebration of Steve’s life will be held from 5:00-8:00 PM, Thursday, April 6, 2017, at Peterson Funeral Home in Indianola, Iowa. Steve was born on July 23, 1953 in Ottumwa, Iowa to Charles and Vada Brown. Steve graduated from Chariton high school in 1971. Steve knew no stranger. Steve provided for his family by working at Johnson Machine Works, welding at Iron Work in Ottumwa, Trenary Sales, Kum and Go, Coors and Old Milwaukee and worked for Eagle Iron Works in Des Moines as his last employment before they shut their doors. In his younger years Steve loved to go hunting for deer, pheasants and rabbits. Steve loved watching drag racing, nascar races and anything with an engine. Steve loved to take the grandkids camping, fishing and boating. He enjoyed riding his Harley, going to his grandkids sporting events and races and rooting them on. Steve loved to be outdoors at any time with a cigarette and a beer in his hands. He will be greatly missed by everyone. Steve is survived by his partner of 25 years, Mary Konrad of Milo; father, Charles Brown of Waterloo; daughter, Kim(Chris)Feehan of Russell; son, Travis(Elisha Greene)Brown of Indianola; brothers, Rick(Debbie)Brown of Chariton and Gary(Ida)brown of Oklahoma; Mary’s children, Jeff Konrad of Lacona, Terry(Jenny)Konrad of Milo, Angelia(Kasey)Peterson of Carlisle and Cory(Shawn)Konrad of Des Moines; grandchildren, Hailee Feehan, Taylor Feehan, Madison Feehan, Cameron Brown, Kade Clark, Tyler Busch, Addison Busch, Emmett Konrad, Kacey Konrad, Chris Wright, David Wright, Tylar Konrad, Lillie Peterson, Charlie Peterson, Freddie Peterson, Catherine Konrad and one great grandchild, Alma Boucher.
