Victor Stephen Conrad, 81, died at the Carlisle Care Center August 27, 2007. He was born in Dallas, Iowa July 11, 1926. Victor was a Farmer then worked for Bridgestone Firestone for 30 years. He was in the army during the Korean conflict He was a 50 year member of the Carlisle American Legion, 40 and eight in Des Moines, former Boy Scout Leader, and served on Carlisle City Council. He is survived by his wife, Leonie Conrad; son, Robert Conrad of Carlisle; daughters, Regina Sinclair of Carlisle, Deborah Conrad of Des Moines; brother, Alfred; sisters, Genevieve, Francis and Margaret; grandchildren, Annesa (John) Bergstrom of Carlisle, Chris (Tara) Sinclair of Carlisle, Mary Sinclair of Urbandale, Stephanie Ward of Des Moines; great-grandchildren Maya Victoria Bergstrom, Liberty Sinclair, Cadence Sinclair. Funeral services will be held 11 am. Friday August 31, 2007 at Peterson Funeral Home in Carlisle. Visitation 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Peterson Funeral Home in Carlisle, Iowa. Burial at the Carlisle City Cemetery. Memorials may be made to American Legion in Carlisle. There will be a lunch following the funeral service at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Carlisle.
