Sherry C. Thompson, 54, of Carlisle died of pneumonia Friday at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Richardson Funeral Home in Carlisle, with burial at Avon Cemetery near there. Miss Thompson was born in Fort Dodge and had lived in Knoxville 20 years before moving to Carlisle in 1983. She had attended Winifred Law Opportunity Center in Indianola for many years. She is survived by her mother, Marge Thompson of Carlisle; two sisters, Sandy Robinson of Carlisle and Kathy Crooks of Des Moines; and a brother, Larry Thompson of Carlisle. Her companion was Bill Cooper of Des Moines. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Camp Sunnyside or the activity center at Carlisle Care Center.
