Ruth Ann Dixon, 79, of Indianola died of cancer Friday at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bybee and Davis Funeral Home in Knoxville, with burial at Graceland Cemetery there. Mrs. Dixon was born in Pleasantville and had lived in Knoxville most of her life before moving to Indianola in 1999. She had worked for Bellamy Telephone Co. and farmed with her husband before retiring. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Knoxville, Order of the Eastern Star and PEO. She enjoyed gardening and crafts. She is survived by her husband, Don; and three sisters, Dorothy Proffitt, Mary Clark and Helen Koons, and a brother, Dwight Karns, all of Pleasantville. Friends may call after 9 a.m. Monday at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the John Stoddard Cancer Center.
