Carolyn E. Ober, 85, of Carlisle died of cancer Friday at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Richardson Funeral Home in Carlisle, with burial at Carlisle Township Cemetery. Mrs. Ober lived in Carlisle all her life. She had been a greenhouse operator and a vegetable farmer. She is survived by a son, William, and a sister, Elizabeth Hartman, both of Carlisle; two step-grandchildren; and four step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Carlisle United Methodist Church.
