(November 6, 1937 - February 21, 2017)

On February 21, 2017, at the age of 79, Keith L. Wright went to be in the loving arms of Christ, joining him peacefully in his sleep. Military rites and inurnment of cremains will be held 11 a.m., Friday, February 24 at the Iowa Veterans Cemetery in Van Meter, IA. Memorials service will be held 11 a.m., Monday, February 27 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in Indianola. The family will greet friends one hour prior to services on Monday. Keith is survived by his wife, Sonnie; his children, Valerie Connett (James), Jamie Collins (Brian), and Tracy Nehring (Jace); his siblings, Karen VanHoever (Arlin), and Jona Wipf (Donnis); as well as 9 grandchildren, Shannon Fisher (Dusty), Jessica Vasey (James), Scott Seaman (Crystal), Melissa Curl (Darwin), Jacob Nehring, Jarod Nehring, Matthew Nehring, Joshua Collins (Tabitha), Brenda McCormick (Jeremy) and 21 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents John Wright, Virgina Butcher-Davis, and grandchildren Crystal and Daniel Collins. Keith was born on November 6, 1937 in Des Moines, IA. He graduated from Perry High School in 1956. He served our country as an airman in the United States Air Force until 1960. After leaving the military he married the love of his life Sondra in 1961. They lived in Perry, IA for several years and started their family together there; Sondra and Keith were happily married for 55 years, always together in their journeys throughout life.
He began his banking career in Indianola at People’s Bank in 1978. Throughout his career he continued to take on new responsibilities and challenges and was eventually appointed to a Senior Vice President. He truly had a love for his career; his work ethic and passion for helping people was evident by everyone around him. After having a very successful career he retired, but only three years later he returned and continued to inspire everyone at People’s Bank with his dedicated work ethic.
Keith loved to help others—always willing to put others before himself. After retiring he continued to pursue lifelong activisim throughout the community. He was an active member of his church, Kiwanas, Gideon’s, President of his condiminum community, and was a dedicated member for many Chamber and Committe boards. In his younger days he enjoyed bowling, had always loved vacations, and throughly enjoyed a good Hawkeye game! Keith loved his family and friends dearly. He will forever be missed.
