Jane A. Olive
(May 26, 1830 – March 18, 1909)

The Advocate Tribune newspaper, Indianola, Iowa, Thursday, March 25, 1909, p.3
Death of Mrs. Fred Olive
Jane A. Able was born in Albany, N. Y., May 26, 1830. Her father died when she was quite young and she moved with other members of the family to Knoxville, Ill., and was married to Frederick Olive Sept. 29, 1854. She united with the Congregational church in Knoxville soon after her marriage and was received into the Presbyterian church here by letter in 1868. She leaves a husband and three sons, Alfred A., of Cartwright, N.D.; Arthur L., of Carthage, MO; George H., of Weeping Water, Neb., to mourn her death which occurred Thursday evening, March 18. Mrs. Olive had been an invalid for more than eight years and during that time suffered intensely but never complained, thinking of those who so tenderly cared for her. During the past few years, Mr. Olive had his shop at home that he might be present to administer to her wants. It can be truthfully said that Mrs. Olive was a true Christian woman and had many devoted friends among the people she had known so long. Funeral services were held in the Presbyterian church Saturday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Mitchell.
