Death of Mrs. Alexander Schee
After being blind and feeble for months, Mrs. Alexander Schee passed peacefully away at the home of her daughter, Mrs. John Downing, in Liberty township, Saturday. Alice Brindley was born near Hagerstown, Md., eighty-one years ago; was married to Alexander Schee March, 1840, in Ohio, coming to Iowa in 1852, locating in Belmont township in 1866. Since Mr. Schee’s death in ’93 [1893], Mrs. Schee had made her home with her daughter in Liberty township. Seven children were born to Mr. and Mrs. Schee – Oliver, of Kansas City; Mrs. J. B. Johnson, Bussey; James, Milo; Nathan, Des Moines; Lewis and John F., Indianola – and all were present at the funeral which was held at the Baptist church northeast of Milo on Sunday, conducted by Rev. Harned.
