Obituary – Ethel Bolyard
Ethel Bolyard was born at New Virginia, Iowa, on July 19, 1889, and departed this life at the home of her mother, Mrs. Cora Bolyard, at Ft. Dodge, Iowa, January 18, 1916. Her entire life with the exception of the past seven years, was spent in this locality. She was a graduate of the New Virginia High School and after leaving school she learned the printing trade in the New Virginian office. She was a book keeper in the office of the Ft. Dodge Messenger for nearly six years and taught Sunday school class of girls. Her fatal illness was a long duration and severe suffering but she bore it all bravely and was ready to go. The body was brought to New Virginia and the funeral was held from the M.E. church at 2:30 Thursday afternoon, January 20th, conducted by the pastor, Rev. G. W. Koser, after which the remains were laid to rest in the New Virginia cemetery.
