Susan Spear
(Sep 13, 1842 - June 22, 1903)

Mrs. Samuel P. Spear died at her home south of Indianola, Monday evening, June 22nd, and was buried at Indianola Tuesday afternoon. The funeral was conducted at her late home by Rev. D. Everett Smith, pastor of U. P. church of Indianola. Mrs. Spear came from Pennsylvania with her husband about 1870 and settled on a farm five miles south of Milo where they continued to reside for about thirty years until they moved to their present home south of Indianola. Mrs. Spear was a woman known for her many Christian virtues; being of a retiring disposition she was best known to her nearest friends and neighbors who always found in her a friend in time of need, always ready to assist when she could be of help. A husband, three sons and a daughter are left to mourn her death. [copied from a list of obituaries by Rev Charles S. Fair]
