Eliza Jane Pennington
(June 28, 1856 - May 10, 1886)

Obituary
Died – At the residence in Milo, Mrs. Eliza Jane Pennington, wife of Edward Pennington, and daughter of James and Mary Stitt. Sister Pennington was born June 28, 1856 and died May 10, 1886, and leaves a husband and four children to mourn her death. She was a faithful and affectionate wife, a tender loving mother, and highly esteemed by a wide circle of friends and relatives. About two weeks before death it pleased God to give her ablest assurance of acceptance with Himself; since which time she has been very happy, having no fear of death, but anxious to go. Shortly before departure, she called for her husband and children and talked to them very sweetly, giving them much good council, saying she did not fear to die, her only regret being to leave her family. At the last she seemed very anxious to be gone, saying her Savior had nothing to do but to open the door and let her in. Thus passed one sister, her soul full of faith and hope, her heart with love.
