Obituary—Eliza A. Kimzey
To the memory of Eliza Angeline, eldest daughter of of Jeremiah and Viania, Kimzey was born in Peoria county, Illinois, June 21, 1852, and and died of heart failure at the old homestead five miles south of Milo, Iowa, December 6, 1908, aged 53 years, 5 mouths and 15 days. She came to Warren county, Iowa, with her parents while she was a mere babe and spent her entire life at home. Three brothers, James, Albert and Henry, and one sister, Mintie J., have proceeded her to the better land.
She leaves to mourn her sudden departure a father, mother and one brother, Frank M. Kimzey, two nephews, Seth and Claude Kimzey, and one neice, Mrs. Rissie Manley, numerous other relatives and of host of friends. She never made public profession of religion, but she was of a sweet disposition, kind and affectionate to all she came in contact with and was always looking after the welfare of others rather than herself.
Oh, how she will be miss in this home, for she has left a vacant place that never can be filled. But our loss is her eternal gain. We hope soon to meet her in the sweet bye and bye, where sorrow and parting are no more. Upon the death of such a daughter and friend as this, we can say with the poem. "There is something in the parting hour, that chills the warmest heart. Yet children, parents, husbands, wives are destined all to part. But this I have seen and many a pang has pressed it on my mind, that the one who goes is better far, than those that's left behind." Funeral services were conducted by C. S. Pair, assisted by Revs. Tennant and Gordon at the Plainville Chapel, December 8th, where interment took place.
