Obituary —Guy Cecil Norris
"A bud the Gardener gave us, a pure and lovely child. He gave it to our keeping, to cherish undefiled, but just as it was opening to the glory of the day down came the heavenly Gardener and took our bud away."
The home of Oscar and Mable Norris was made sad on Tuesday, July 19, 1910, when their little sou, Guy Cecil, age three years, two months and nine days was called to leave this world to join the angel band in heaven. Dear parents, think not of him as dead but as living, not as a flower that is withered, but as one that is transplanted and touched by a divine hand, blooming in eternal beauty. Not dead but gone before to the land of unfading day. Funeral services were held at the home near Ackworth, July 20, conducted by C. S. Fair assisted by Rev. Stewart. After which the little white casket covered with beautiful flowers containing all that was mortal of this angel child was taken to the Belmont Zion cemetery for interment.
