Obituary—India Fawcett
One more life has gone out with the tide, one more race has been run, one more crossing to the heavenly side, where a Heavenly life has begun:
India, daughter of I. B. and Mary Fawcett, was born near Sandyville, Warren county, Iowa, October 2, 1889, and departed this life March 11, 1909, near seven o'clock p. m., at the age of nineteen years, four months and nine days. She spent her entire life with her devoted parents, brothers and sisters at their present home near Sandyville. During the winter of 1906 she was converted along with a sister and a number of young friends and united with the Church of Christ at Sandyville, in which she remained true to her Savior and surely died with the triumphs of a faithful Christian. She enjoyed all the church services and since her health failed, has been greatly missed, especially in the Sunday school. Thus has closed a pure, sweet short life, lived in our midst, to which no one could say aught against, she was so kind and patient during her long illness, and loved so much her home and friends. All was done that loving hearts and hands could do, but the summons came and she anwered the spirit's call. She leaves to mourn her departure, her parents, five sisters and a brother, a number of other relatives and friends. Blessed are they that do His commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life and may enter in through the gate into the city. Funeral services were conducted by C. S. Fair in the Christian Church at Sandyville, March 13th, in the presence of a large audience. This bereft family desire to express their heartfelt thanks to the many neighbors and friends who so kindly assisted them in this sore bereavement, and they are assured that they have the sympathy of the entire community.
