(June 15, 1820 - Apr 18, 1911)

Obituary—Henry C. Scott
Henry C. Scott was born in Ohio, June 15, 1820. He came to Clayton, Co., Iowa in an early day, and resided there until the year 1867, when he removed to his late home near Milo, Iowa, where he died April 18th, 1911, age 90 years, 10 months and 3 days.
He was married to Mary Jane Barnes, Dec. 15, 1853. To this happy union seven sons were born. His wife and two sons proceeded him to the Great Beyond several. years ago. He leaves to mourn his loss five sons: W. J of Ipswitch, South Dakota; S. B. of Phillips, Neb.; G. E. of Forest, Oklahoma, and Charlie and Tom of Ack worth, Iowa, and one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Robinson of Ipava, Ill.
All was done by willing hands that could be done to relieve his, suffering and save his life but to no avail. He was a member of the Methodist church. He had a true Christian character, not that which comes in words only, but in every look and act. His bright and cheerful disposition won for himself numerous friends. He was a great lover of home and leaves a vacant place that never can be filled. Memorial services were held at the old home, April 20, conducted by C. S. Fair in the presence of a large audience of neighbors and friends.
