Catherine, daughter of Levi and Sarah Morgan was born in Tennessee in the year 1836. On the evening of January 31, 1908, just as the sun was sinking in the western horizon, she peacefully breathed her last, and her spirit passed to the realms of bliss, where death never enters. She was 72 years old. Her sickness was of short duration, but she suffered intensely. All that loving hearts and willing hands could do was done to relieve her, but to no avail and she passed away. She was a kind and affectionate woman and will be sadly missed by all, especially by L. O. Morgan and wife, with whom she has lately made her home. She leaves to mourn her death two brothers, numerous relatives, and a host of friends. But we can say their loss is Heaven's gain.
Heaven now retains our treasure. Earth the lonely casket keeps, and the sun beams love to linger, where our sainted one will sleep.
Funeral services were conducted by C.S. Fair at the home Sunday, Feb. 2,1908, after which the body was taken to the Ackworth cemetery for interment.
