William M. Estes

Passes Away.
Great was the surprise on Monday morning when the news spread that Wm. Estes, our mail carrier on R. F. D. No. 2, had passed away, after only a short illness last, lasting a little over a week. He carried the mail for couple days when he had a bad cold, which later developed. into pneumonia. The relatives have the sympathy of the entire community in this, their sad bereavement.
Willie M. Estes, son of Jesse C. H. and Caroline Estes was born in Guthrie county, Iowa, Nov. 19, 1876, and the news of his death which occured at his home in Milo, lowa, Jan. 6, 1908, was received with profound sorrow by the friends of the Este family and although seriously sick a few days the final summons came suddenly and took another of our number, in the strength of manhood at the age, of 31 years, 1 month, and 17 days. He was married to Alice Vanzee, April 4, 1898. To this union was born four children, Carrie, Jesse, Leonard, and an infant of but five days. His companion, four children, father, one brother, and one sister being left to mourn his untimely death, his mother and one sister having died a number of years ago. Short funeral services were held at the home on Wednesday at 10:00 a. m. by C. S. Fair assisted by Rev. N. D. Gordon and the body was taken to the Caloma cemetery for interment.
