Albert Bales
(Nov 15, 1878 - Nov 8, 1907)

Obituary.
Surley in the midst of life we are in death. Albert Bales, son of N. D. and Elizabeth Bales, was born in Otter township, November 15, 1878 and died at the same home November 8, 1907 at the age of 28 years, 11 months and 23 days.
Thus another young man in the strength of manhood has been called from time to eternity. But a few weeks ago the light of hope was in his eye and the glow of health was on his check. But suddenly sickness came on and although many miles from home he made an extraordinary effort to reach the scenes of his childhood, to be with his loved ones during his sore afflictions and while all was done that loving hearts and willing hands could do, yet.the messenger of death came and called him into a world unknown to us, from whence no traveller has ever returned. He leaves to mourn his sad and untimely death, a father, rnother, six full brothers, three full sisters, three half brothers, one half sister, numereus other relatives and a host of friends. One sister and two half sisters have passed over the river before him. He was a member of the Modern Woodmen of America and was loved and respected by the brethren of the order.
Funeral services were conducted by C. S. Fair at Hammondsburg, Sunday, Nov. 10th. Milo Lodge M. W. A. attended in a body and acted as escort in the cemetery, and the beautiful and impressive funeral service of the order was there read while the body was being consigned to the earth from whence it came to await the resurection of the just.
