Margaret Frances Wright
(May 14, 1838 - Feb 16, 1905)

Margaret Frances, the 6th child of a. family of nine children of Davis and Elizabeth Stocton, was born May 14, 1838 in Morgan county, Ill. She has been making her home with her daughter, Mrs. L. H. Warrener for the past six years and died at her home at 7 p. m. Feb. 16, 1905, aged 69 years, 9 months, and 3 days. She was married to Abram Wallace Wright, May 30, 1861. One child was born to this union, Mrs. Abby Warrener. She is survived by her husband, her only child, two grand daughters, Margaret and Gertrude, two brothers, Samuel Stocton of West Plains, Mo., Frank Stocton, Ashland, Ill., two sisters, Mrs. Ellen Boosinger, Marion, Ill., Mrs. Joan Adkins, Ashland, Ill. She lived a faithful and consistent Christian life. She was a devoted wife and mother and sister. She was a charter member of the Gillespie Christian church in 1853. She was always willing to go in case of sickness in the neighborhood.
Funeral services were held at the Presbyterian church Sat. Feb. 16, conducted by O. S. Fair, assisted by Revs. Condit and Knoll, after which all that was mortal of mother Wright was laid to rest in the I. O. O. F. cemetery.
