A loved One Gone
Mamie Doris, daughter of John and Vina Spurgeon was born May 30, 1900, departed this life Thursday, Oct 12, 1904, being 4 years, 4 months, and 13 days old; leaving father, mother, two sisters and two brothers, one brother having passed on before. She was a loving child and will be sadly missed in the home and by all who knew her , for to know her was to love her.
Death has been here, and borne away a darling from our side. Just in the morning of the day, younger than we, she died. Not long ago she filled her place; and sat with us to learn, but she has run the mortal race, and never can return.
Funeral service was held in the M. E. church at Sandyville conducted by C. S. Fair, Oct 14, after which all that was mortal of this angel child was consigned to the narrow limits of the tomb.
