Ettie M. Lucas
(Aug 13, 1873 - Feb 24, 1898)

Death of Mrs. Ettie M. Lucas.
"Lifes fitfull fever is over, she rests well."
Ettie M., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Bare, was born August 13, 1873, and died February 24, 1898. She was converted in an union meeting held at the Concord school house by Revs. Goode and Newland in 1889, and united with the M. E. Church and remained firm in her Christian faith until the end.
She was united in marriage to P. M. Lucas, December 31, 1893. To this union was born one child, a sweet little girl of some three summers, who still lives to comfort the bereaved husband and relatives.
Notwithstanding her death was very sudden, her faith in the Lord and Savior never once faltered, and she left us triumphant that Jesus would meet her at the river and guide her safely over.
Funeral services were conducted by the Rev. C. S. Fair at Plainville chapel, February 26. The words of the text were, "Her sun has gone down while it is yet day.". After which the remains were laid to rest in the tomb until that day when the just shall be called forth to rightiousness. Rest in peace, thy warfare is.
