Viola Marie "Sandy" Hanley, 75, of Norwalk, died of cancer Thursday, April 20, 2000, at Iowa Methodist medical Center in Des Moines. Services were held April 24 at Southtown Funeral Home, with burial at Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Mrs. Hanley was born in Milo and had lived in Des Moines before moving to Norwalk 11 years ago. She was a homemaker and a member of Glad Tiding Assembly of God Church. She enjoyed raising sheep.

Survivors include three daughters, Cherryl Little of Waxahatchie, Texas, Sandra Allsup of Winterset and Deborah Gruwell of Peru; a son, Robert Etzen of Rhodes; three brothers, Homer Turnbull of Clio, Bob Turnbull of Colorado and Glen Turnbull of California; two sisters, Cecelia McCoy and Vera Tubbs, both of Leon; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
