Ethel Trueblood Thomas, 102, of Escondido, Calif., died of a heart failure Thursday, March 23, 2000, at her home. Memorial services were held April 2 at First Congregational Church in Escondido, with interment at Oak Hill Memorial Park there.

Mrs. Thomas was born near Pleasantville and had lived in Escondido for 36 years. She was a homemaker and a high school teacher of home economics. She was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority, a birthright Quaker and member of the First Congregational Church since 1941.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Loyal Thomas, in 1966.

Survivors include a son, Oliver of Escondido; a brother, Clare of Indianola; four grandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
