Obituary from The Record-Herald and Indianola Tribune newspaper, Indianola, Warren County, Iowa, USA, date unknown:

Dr. David Elton, Trueblood, 94, of Lansdale, Pa, died of a heart ailment Tuesday, Dec. 20, 1994, at Meadowood Retirement Community near there. Memorial services were held Dec. 24 at Gwynedd, Pa., and will be held at a later date at Earlham College in Richmond, Ind.
Dr. Trueblood author, educator, philosopher and theologian, was born near Indianola. He graduated from William Penn College in 1922, earned a graduate degree from Harvard University in 1926 and a Ph. D. from Johns Hopkins University in 1934. He served as chaplain of Stanford University in Palo Alto, Calif., from 1936 to 1945, then served at Earlham College in Richmond, Ind., retiring in 1966, where he lived until 1988 before moving to Pennsylvania. Dr. Trueblood, a Quaker, was a member of the Friends Church.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Pauline, in 1955, and by his second wife, Virginia, in 1984.
Survivors include three sons, D. Martin of Williamsburg, Va., Arnold of Gwynedd Valley, Pa., and Samuel J. of Lansdale, Pa.; a daughter, Elizabeth T. Derr of Conowingo, Md., a stepson, Henry Zuttermeister of Kendallville, Ind., a stepdaughter, Virginia Grohs of Susanville, Calif.; a brother, Clare of Indianola; a sister, Ethel Thomas of Escondido, Calif., 13 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren.
