Max O. Town, 80, of Carlisle died of a heart ailment Wednesday, June 23, 1999, at Mercy Hospital Medical Center in Des Moines. Services were held June 26 at Richardson Funeral Home in Carlisle with burial at Scotch Ridge Cemetery.

Mr. Town was born in Cambridge and had moved to Carlisle 56 years ago. He was a retired clerk and manager with the Iowa Liquor Commission and a member of Carlisle United Methodist Church and Masons.

Survivors include his wife, Olive; a son, Rick of Altoona; a daughter, Carla Paugh of Humeston; six grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
