Obituary from The Record-Herald and Indianola Tribune newspaper, Indianola, Warren County, Iowa, USA on 5-22-1985:

Fair Eslayn Town, son of O. Fair and Beryle Murray Town, was born May 28, 1920, at Lacona and died May 5 at Veterans Administration Medical Center in Des Moines.

Mr. Fair served more than 20 years in the U.S. Navy, enlisting in 1937 and retiring in 1960. He was serving on the USS California the day of the attack on Pearl Harbor.

On July 23, 1961, he married Rena Frericks. Together they operated the Town Barber Shop in Milo until retiring last year.

He is preceded in death by his mother and a sister, Duala.

He is survived by his wife, Rena; father and step-mother, O. Fair and Elzora Town; four children, Charlotte Niles of Estherville, Terry Town and wife Linda of Wellsburg, Leslie Town and wife Geri of Polk City and Mary Lou Spurgeon and husband Joe of Durango, Colo.; four grandchildren, Debi Niles, Weslie Niles, Brady Town and Nathan Town; and a brother, Merrill Beal of Rhode Island.

Military services were held on Tuesday, May 7, at the Mosher Funeral Home in Milo with interment in the Goods Chapel Cemetery.
