Edna Marie (Evans) Taylor was born in Summerset, IA on October 12, 1924. She entered Heaven's gates on June 3, 2013.
A great mother and homemaker, Edna was an excellent cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family. She loved grocery shopping and purchasing her bargains from discount stores. Over the years she loved to attend her children's sporting and school activities. She loved spending time with her "grand babies" as she called them. She also loved to watch the RFD cable channel, and loved to watch Tiger Woods, golf on TV.
Edna is preceded in death by her loving husband of 48 years, Orlo M. Taylor. She is also preceded by her daughter, Constance M. Taylor, her father, John Evans and her mother Lenna Larrance Evans, her sister Margaret Harris, brothers, Edwin Evans and John Evans. Edna is survived by her children, William (Sharon) Taylor, Rundall (Rhonda) Taylor, Carmena (Joseph) Cataldo, Rory (Denise) Taylor, and Dierdre Taylor. She is also survived by eleven grandchildren, Monnette, Tina, Shanna, Theresa, DeeDee, Brandy, Rachel, D.J. Cody, Makelti, Kaylee, Matt, Anna, Amie and Tessa. Great-grandchildren, Anasia, Karla, David and Ryder.
Edna's family would like to thank the loving compassionate staff of Bishop Drumm Care Center, for their care of Edna. The family gives them and everyone else who cared for Edna, their greatest gratitude.
Visitation will be held 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 6, at the Norwalk United Methodist Church where family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. A service celebrating her life will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 7, at the church. Burial will follow in the New Virginia Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church, Martens dale, IA, in Edna's name.
