Obituary from The Des Moines Register newspaper, Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa, USA on 2-19-2001:

Mildred Amelia Amos, 96, of Indianola died of a heart ailment Saturday at Village Health Center there. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Overton Funeral Home, with burial at Independent Order of Odd Fellows Cemetery there.

Mrs. Amos was born in Liberty Center and had lived in the Lake Aquahbi area before moving to Indianola four years ago. She was a homemaker and a member of Brown Chapel Church near Indianola.

She is survived by two sons, Harold of rural Indianola and Roland of rural Prole; four grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard.

Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Mildred Amos Memorial Fund.
