Tony J. Sweeden, 52, of Indianola died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound Tuesday, Feb. 20, 1996, near Indianola. The death has been ruled a suicide. Services were held Feb. 27 at Overton Funeral Home, with burial at Ackworth Cemetery.

Mr. Sweeden was born in Centerville and lived in Ackworth before moving to Indianola. He was a sorter at Iowa Pack Co. for 16 years.

Survivors include a son, Brian of Sandyville; four daughters, Julie Kneip of Waverly, Jennifer Sweeden of Des Moines, Brenda Sweeden of Martensdale and Angela Sweeden of Indianola; two brothers, Ernest of Odebolt and Ross of Arthur; three sisters, Rosie Mullinix of Albia, Wanda Fenton of Melrose and Sue Jones of Paw Paw, Mich.; and eight grandchildren.
