Cordelia A. Crawford, the daughter of G. W. and Elma Stokesbury, was born June 14, 1906 in Lacona and died Aug. 12, 1982, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center.

She graduated from the Lacona High School and was united in marriage to James Newton Crawford June 22, 1924, at Chariton. To this union were born one son, George William Crawford of Salem, Mo., and one daughter, Marlene Jacqueline Stromley of McHenry, Ill.

She was a member of the Lacona United Methodist Church. She worked for many years caring for the elderly.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one brother and one sister. She is survived by her children, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; her sisters, Izetta Guy of Woodbine, Helen Bates and Marvel Clark of Lacona, and other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Aug. 15, 1982 at the Lacona United Methodist Church, with interment in the Cochran Cemetery near Lacona.
