Obituary from The Record-Herald and Indianola Tribune newspaper, Indianola, Warren County, Iowa, USA, date unknown:

Russell C. Sinclair Sr., 91, of Indianola died of pneumonia Sunday, March 31, 2002, at the Indianola Good Samaritan Center. Services were held April 4 at First Assembly of God Church in Indianola, of which he was a member, with burial at the Indianola IOOF Cemetery.

Mr. Sinclair was born in Lineville and had lived in Indianola for more than 50 years. He was a retired laborer, an Army veteran of World War II and a member of American Legion Post 165 and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He had co-founded AMVETS in Indianola and enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Olive May.

Survivors include three sons, Russell Jr. of Des Moines, Howard of Davis City and Jake of Cherokee Village, Ark.; three daughters, Norma Edwards of Indianola, Arlene Edwards of Carlisle and Colleen Dill of Willard, Mo.; four brothers, Lyle and Leo, both of Indianola, Pete of Hoquiam, Wash., and Jerry of Seattle; three sisters, Phyllis Matheson of Monette, Mo., Imogene Weeks of Indianola and Mary Lou Stiles of Woodburn; 31 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Sinclair Shelter House Fund in care of Citizens Bank, 111 North Main St., Box 171, Leon, Ia 50144.
