Obituary from an unknown newspaper, date unknown, photographed from an Obituary Book at the City Library in Indianola, Warren County, Iowa, USA:

Mrs. Martha Shohe Fridley was born December 25, 1832, and died February 12, 1909. Age 76 years, 1 month and 17 days.

She was united in marriage with John L. Fridley at Buffalo, Iowa, in the year of 1850. To this union was born eight sons and two daughters: Henry, Christaphor, Lewis, George, John, Jacob, Frank, Thomas, Mrs. Celia Clary and Mrs. Martha Clapp. on December 30, 1892, her husband passed out of this life, and in June 1907, one son, John W., was called to the great beyond leaving to mourn their loss nine children, numerous other relatives and a host of friends.

When quite young Mother Fridley was converted and for a number of years was a member of the United Brethren church and during the last few months of her life she loved to talk to her friends about the religion of the Bible and in her last sickness expressed her self as being ready to go when the master saw fit to call her home.

She has answered the call, her life work is ended. A sweet lovable mother has passed into the great beyond, but hope and faith tells us that sometime, some place we shall all meet again, where there will be no more pain or sorrow nor death, and where God himself shall will wipe away all the tears from our eyes.

For a number of years Mother Fridley has made her home with her son, George, in Milo, where everything possible was done for her comfort.

Short funeral services were conducted by the writer at the home February 13th, after which the interment took place at the Liberty center cemetery.
