Ronald Lawrence Seddon, 57, of Knoxville died of a heart attack Monday at Knoxville Area Community Hospital. The body was cremated, and memorial services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Dallas Christian Church in Melcher-Dallas, of which he was a member. Burial of the cremains will be at Dallas Cemetery there.
Mr. Seddon was born in Chicago and had lived in the Melcher-Dallas area most of his life. He was the director of veterans affairs and general relief with Marion County, an Army veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of American Legion Post 632. He enjoyed sprint car races and golf.
He is survived by his wife, Judy; a daughter, Stacy Pearson of Columbia; a son, Curtis of Ottumwa; two brothers, Bill and Gary, both of Melcher-Dallas; two sisters, Joan Maitre of Des Moines and Becky Fisher of Melcher-Dallas; and three grandchildren.
Friends may call after 10 a.m. today at Pierschbacher Funeral Home in Melcher-Dallas, where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m.
