Services for Hilda Elizabeth (Rodgers) Perry, 98, who passed away Thursday, May 2, 2013 at the Indianola Good Samaritan Center, will be held 11 a.m., Monday, May 6, at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola with burial following in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Hilda is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Loren; daughter, Marilyn Strawn; brothers, Leo Rodgers and Dean Rodgers; sister, Helen McElwee; two granddaughters and one great grandson. Survivors include her son, Marvin (Judy) Perry of Prole; son-in-law, Dennis Strawn of St. Charles; sister, Louise Walker of Indianola; five grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at Overton Funeral Home where family will be present to greet friends. Memorials may be given to Center Chapel United Methodist Church or the Alzheimer's Association . Online condolences may be made at www.overtonfunerals.com .

Services for Hilda Elizabeth (Rodgers) Perry, 98, who passed away Thursday, May 2, 2013 at the Indianola Good Samaritan Center, will be held 11 a.m., Monday, May 6 at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola with burial following in the Indianola I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
Hilda was born on December 15, 1914 in Warren County, IA to Vance and Georgia Rodgers. She attended school in Warren County and graduated from Beech High school in 1933. On March 14, 1937, Hilda was united in marriage to Loren Perry and they farmed in Polk and Warren counties for more than 30 years.
In 1967, Hilda went to work at the Iowa Department of Transportation in Des Moines, retiring in 1983. She and Loren built a new home in Indianola in 1969 where they resided until Loren’s passing in 1975. Hilda continued living there until her failing health forced her to move to Good Samaritan of Indianola in 2003. Hilda enjoyed church activities, and attended Center Chapel as a member for many years. She was also a member of the American Business Women’s Association and the Rebecca Lodge in Indianola. Hilda always looked forward to the weekly card games with her friends and the various senior trips they took together.
