Lyle Schurman, 53, of Phoenix, Ariz., died of a heart ailment Saturday at Veterans Medical Center in Des Moines. Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Mosher Funeral Home in Lacona. Burial will be at St. Mary's Cemetery.

Mr. Schurman was born in Lacona and lived in the area most of his life, moving to Arizona nine years ago. He was a retired warehouse worker.

Survivors include two daughters, Angela of Colorado and Kristina of California; his father, Ed of Lacona; five brothers, Bernard, Loren and Richard, all of Des Moines; and Wayne and Dennis, both of Lacona; and a sister, Marlene Harper of Phoenix.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 7 to 8 p.m. and where a vigil service will be held at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Lacona Fire and Rescue.
