Joseph Allen Schurman, 24, of Lacona died of injuries sustained in a vehicle crash Wednesday, Nov. 24, 1999, at Grace Baptist Church in Chariton, with burial at Rosemount Cemetery.

Mr. Schurman was born in Des Moines and lived in Lacona all his life. He was a truck driver for Hy-Vee Food Stores.

Survivors include his wife, Beth; a son, Nick, and a daughter, Melissa Schurman, both at home; his parents, Larry and Leora Schurman, a brother, James, and two sisters, Angela Collins and Christian Morgan, all of Lacona; and his grandparents, Virgil and Catherine Schurman of Lacona and Lon and Beulah Decker of Indianola.

Mosher Funeral Home in Chariton handled arrangements.
