Jerry L. Schrader, 69, of Melcher-Dallas died of cancer Monday, Dec. 11, 2000, at Kavanagh House on Grand in West Des Moines. Services were held Dec. 14 at New Hope United Methodist Church in Melcher-Dallas, with burial at Tickle Cemetery.

Mr. Schrader was born near Lacona and had lived in the Melcher-Dallas area many years. He had worked for Firestone Tire and Rubber Co. for 25 years before retiring and was a Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church and National Rifle Association. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his wife, Dolores; a son, Bruce of Indianola; two daughters, Teresa Fee of Des Moines and Alisa Breese of Melcher-Dallas; his mother, Faye Schrader of Milo; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
