Paul Anthony Schneider, 87, of Marshalltown died of Alzheimer's disease Friday, Dec. 21, 2001, at Iowa Veterans Home there. The body was donated for medical research, and services were held Dec. 27 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Melcher-Dallas.
Mr. Schneider was born near Lacona and had lived in the Melcher-Dallas area many years. He had worked for the Internal Revenue Service and had been a funeral director. He was an Army veteran and a member of Knights of Columbus, American Legion and Iowa State AFSME. He enjoyed politics and calling bingo.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Georgia Marie Aschom Schneider.
Survivors include a son, Ronald of Rock Island, Ill.; five daughters, Connie Ryan of Phoenix, Mary Bauer of Indianola, Ginny Wolfe of Des Moines, Peggy Hall of Richardson, Texas, and Debbie Schneider of Iowa City; a brother, Gerald of Lacona; a sister, Geraldine Ross of Oelwein; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
