Edith Marie Knouse Ball, 82, of Clearfield died of Alzheimer's disease Monday, June 2, 1997, at Clearfield Nursing Home. Services were held June 6 at Milo United Methodist Church, with burial at Plainville Cemetery near Milo.

Mrs. Ball was born in Milo and was a 1934 graduate of Simpson College. She had previously lived in Drakesville and was a homemaker.

Survivors include four sons, Vern of Bloomfield, Lynn of California, Lyle of Des Moines and John of Jonesboro, Ark.; a daughter, Kathleen Whitmore of Omaha; 12 foster children, Gene Webb, Karla Castle, Ward Grade, Bob Ball, Alan Ball, Jerry Ball, Becky Miller, Larry Miller, Ken Schroeder, Charlie Schroeder, Rick Adkinson and Steve Adkinson; 19 grandchildren; 14 foster grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren.

Mosher Funeral Home handled arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to Drakesville United Methodist Church.
