Obituary from an unknown newspaper, date unknown, photographed from an Obituary Book at the City Library in Indianola, Warren County, Iowa, USA:

Walter, oldest son of Robert and Lochie Kimsey, was born near Milo, Iowa, October 28, 1860 and passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Susie Faust at Indianola, Iowa, Saturday evening, March 28, 1936 at the age of 75 years and 5 months.

On August 21, 1884 he was united in marriage to Cora Burnett, at her father's home. To this union six children were born, Paul of Indianola, Mrs. Mable Higbee of Milo, Robert of Indianola, Mrs. Hazel Thompson of Liberty Center and Glen of Milo, all of whom survive.

Mr. Kimsey was a Warren county pioneer having spent his entire life within the county.

Over 25 years ago, following the death of his grand daughter Paulene, Walter was deeply stirred and giving his heart to God united with the Green Plain Methodist church with the purpose of living so he could meet the little girl, whom he loved so dearly, in heaven. Across these years he has held true to his purpose. He lived a consistent, straight forward Christian life, was true to his convictions and active in the church, serving as superintendent and teacher in the Sunday school for a number of years. Walter was a good man, a true friend, a helpful neighbor and a loving, devoted husband and father. Besides his children he is survived by his three sisters, Mrs. Alice Greenfield, Mrs. Sue Bissett and Mrs. Nell Wolcott all of Milo, five brothers, John of Indianola, and Phil, Joe, Harl and Fred of Milo, 14 grand children and 2 great grand children. These together with a number of other relatives and a host of friends mourn his departure.

Walter was the first of a family of nine children to pass away and with his wife, who passed away Dec. 18, 1935, the first in his own family.

The funeral services were held from Green Plain Methodist church Monday, March 30, 1936. Rev. C. Hugo Orf and Rev. C.C. Donaghue officiating. He was laid to rest beside his wife and companion of the years, in the cemetery at Goode's Chapel. A quartette consisting of Mrs. Lizzie Nutting, Mrs. Mabel Spear, Merl Trotter and Rev. C.C. Donaghue accompanied by Mrs. Roy Kline sang, "In the Garden," "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Going Down the Valley"
