Obituary from The Des Moines Register newspaper, Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa, USA on 9-21-2003:

Richard Goode Kimzey died of complications of Parkinson's disease, anemia and pneumonia at his home in Indio, California on Sunday, September 14, 2003. He was born in Indianola, Iowa to Robert and Grace Kimzey on October 18, 1929.

He attended Indianola schools and graduated from the Drake University School of Pharmacy in 1952. He worked many years at King's Pharmacy in Des Moines and was later co-owner of Sun Park Fair Pharmacy. He retired 10 years ago and moved first to Blythe, CA and then to Lake Havasu City, AZ. In June of this year he moved to Indio, CA.

Mr. Kimzey loved to travel, visiting such lands as Europe, Mexico, Thailand, Cuba and China. A Talented gardener, he was well known in the Midwest for his Bonsai trees.

Survivors include his lifelong companion, Don Sires of Indio, CA; sister, Kathryn and brother-in-law, Elbert Judkins of Orland, CA; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; and countless friends.
