Helen Lucille Crabb, 78, of Indianola died of a heart attack Saturday, Oct.14, 2000, at the Indianola helicopter landing site at Westroads. Services will be held Thursday, Oct. 19, at 11 a.m. at Overton Funeral Home, with burial of cremains at Belmont Cemetery. Visitation with family will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18 at the funeral home.

Mrs. Crabb was born in the Bethel Chapel community of Clarke County. She had lived in Indianola since 1995 and had previously lived in the Green Plain farming community since 1969. She worked as a fire underwriter for Kirke Van Orsdel Insurance until her retirement in 1984. She enjoyed golfing, bowling and her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth.

Survivors include her daughter, Sandra Leach of Ackworth; three sons, Sam of Swan, Jerry of Des Moines, and Michael of Phoenix, Ariz.; three brothers, Russell Kennedy of Indianola, Dewey Kennedy of Somers, and Ed Kennedy of Des Moines; 15 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

H. Lucille Crabb, 78, of Indianola died of a heart attack Saturday at the Indianola helicopter landing site at Westroads. The body cremated, and memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. Burial of the cremains will be at Belmont Cemetery.
Mrs. Crabb was born in the Bethel Chapel community in Clarke County and had lived in rural Indianola before moving to Indianola in 1995. She was a retired fire underwriter for Kirke Van Orsdel Insurance and enjoyed golfing and bowling.
