Obituary from The Record-Herald and Indianola Tribune newspaper, Indianola, Warren County, Iowa, USA, date unknown:

Helen Winnifred Brommel, 91, of St. Marys, died Thursday, Jan. 1, 2004, at Indianola Good Samaritan Center. Funeral services, officiated by the Rev. Dan Krettek, were held Jan. 5 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys of which she was a member. Burial was in St. Marys Cemetery.

Mrs. Brommel was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Ida Judkins; husband Harry William; brothers James Judkins and Robert Judkins; and sister Dorothy Wood.

Survivors include two sons Joseph of New Virginia and Patrick of Scottsdale, Ariz.; two daughters, Margaret (Peggy) Flesher of Little Rock, Ark. and Dorothy Gavin of St. Marys; one brother Herbert Judkins of Lake Havasu, Ariz.; 15 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

Memorial may be made to her church.

Peterson Funeral Home of Indianola handled the arrangements.

Helen W. Brommel, 91, a lifelong resident of St. Marys, died January 1, 2004 at the Indianola Good Samaritan Center. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, January 5 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in St. Marys, of which she was a member. Burial will be in the St. Marys Cemetery.
She is survived by her sons, Joseph Brommel and wife Sonnie of New Virginia, IA, and Patrick Brommel and late wife Carol of Scottsdale, AZ; daughters, Margaret "Peggy" Flesher of Little Rock, AR, and Dorothy Gavin and husband James of St. Marys; 15 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Dolly Brommel of St. Marys and Willa (Lee) Judkins of New Mexico. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Ida Judkins; husband, Harry Wm. Brommel; brothers, James and Robert Judkins; and sister, Dorothy Wood.
Visitation is from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Peterson Funeral Home in Indianola, where a Rosary will be held at 5 p.m. and a prayer service at 6 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to her church.
