Obituary from The Des Moines Register newspaper, Des Moines, Polk County, Iowa, USA on 1-4-2004:

Ronald "Ron" Ray Jordan, formerly of Knoxville, died January 2, 2004. Services will be 11 a.m., Monday, January 5 at Williams Funeral Home in Knoxville. Burial will be at Lincoln Cemetery in rural Marion County.

Ron was born August 30, 1948 in St. Charles. He graduated from Knoxville High School in 1966 and William Penn College with honors in 1972. On November 2, 1979, he was united in marriage to Susan Inglebright. He was employed as an Insurance Adjuster and served with the Army National Guard.

Ron was always interested and took great pleasure in his family, especially his sons. Ron was a race fan and seldom missed a Saturday night race at Knoxville. He was also a NASCAR fan, several times attending the Brickyard 500 in Indianapolis, IN.

He is survived by his mother, Loretta Jordan of Huxley, formerly of Knoxville; sons, Brett Jordan of Stewart and Ross Jordan of Clive; one sister, Linda Jones of Ankeny; one niece, Kristin Shelton of Huxley and one nephew, Kevin Jones of Ankeny. He was preceded in death by his father, Raymond and sister, Diana.

Visitation is after 9 a.m. Monday at Williams Funeral Home. Memorial gifts may be made to Fairview Christian Church.
