Ernest Earl Johnson, 82, passed away at Iowa Veterans Home in Marshalltown, IA, on Friday, March 11, 2011. Visitation with family will be held Tuesday, March 15 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Peterson's Funeral Home in Indianola, IA. Private burial will take place at Harper Cemetery in Redfield, IA, at 10 a.m. on Wednesday March 16.

Ernie was preceded in death by his parents; four sisters and two brothers. He is survived by former wife, Zelda of Indianola; two brothers, Larry Johnson of Des Moines, Victor Johnson of AZ; son, Earl (Debbie) Johnson of Indianola; daughter, Barb (Duane) Downey of Indianola; and daughter, Carolyn (David) Caskey of Milo; eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
