Byron E. Johnson, 70, of Indianola died of cancer Friday, Feb. 2, 1996, at Veterans Administration Medical Center in Des Moines. Services were held Feb. 6 at Peterson Funeral Home, with burial at North River Cemetery.

Mr. Johnson was born in Norwalk and lived in Warren County all his life. He was a farm equipment salesman, an Army veteran of World War II and a member of Warren County Farm Bureau and American Legion.

Survivors include is wife, Dorothy; two daughters, Annette Rath of Liberty Center and Susan Graeser of Sidney; a son, Keith of Mason City; two brothers, Harold of Des Moines and Doyle of Norwalk; 11 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
