Obituary from an unknown newspaper on 6-18-1992, photographed from an Obituary Book at the City Library in Indianola, Warren County, Iowa, USA:

John Jacobs, 89, of Norwalk died of a heart ailment Tuesday at Norwalk Manor, where he was a resident since 1985. Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Merle Hay Funeral Home in Des Moines and burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery.

Mr. Jacobs was born in Milo and lived in Des Moines 35 years until moving to the care center. He retired after 35 years as owner of Jacobs Market in West Des Moines and had owned an antique shop there. He was a member of West Des Moines Christian Church, Des Moines Consistory, Gnemeth Masonic Lodge, Za-Ga-Zig Shrine Temple and Izaak Walton League.

Surviving are his wife, Louise; three daughters, Marlene Fouche of Johnston, Verla Jean Jacobs of Phoenix, Ariz., and Mary Vaughn of Indianola; three sisters, Hazel Keil of Livonia, Mich., Edna Caviness of Indianola and Betty Hansel of Milo; 11 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call after 9 a.m. today at the funeral home, where the family will be present from 6 to 8 p.m. and a Masonic service will be held at 7 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Shriner's Hospitals for Crippled Children.
